Ali

Ali Padilla was born in Berkeley, California in 1985. He was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he is currently an Art Studio Major at the University of New Mexico. Ali tries to travel as often as he can, most recently studying art and history primarily in Rome, Italy, as well as in Germany, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Drawing and metal work are the two main media that Ali utilizes in his works, but he enjoys painting and sculpture as well. His metal works ranges from welding and soldering to bronze and silver casting. Many of his pieces deal with the subject of the human figure. This, coupled with a long-time interest in Medical Illustration, has led to an exploration of anatomically accurate drawings which aim to reveal the unseen aspects of the human body. Surrealistic elements are often incorporated into these pieces in order to emphasize the intricacies of the body.

Ali is an independent artist whose commissioned works have ranged from Anatomy and Physiology textbooks to horror film posters. His work is currently on display in galleries in the Albuquerque area.
